Ventura County, California – The Ventura County Democratic Party will hold its annual 2010 Spring Fling Barbeque and Party at noon on May 23, 2010 at the Conejo Creek North Park, Thousand Oaks. Among the invited guest speakers are the Democratic Lieutenant Governor candidates, Los Angeles Councilwoman Janice Hahn and San Francisco Mayor Gavin Newsom. Both will speak about their campaigns for this important office, providing an unique opportunity for Democrats, Progressives, Independents and their families to hear from these outstanding candidates whom will appear on the June 8, 2010 Ventura County ballot. Many local candidates and elected officials will also speak.

A fabulous barbeque chicken and ribs lunch will be prepared on-site and served by It’s In The Sauce, a local Ventura County restaurant chain. Entertainment will be provided by Q-tet, a local jazz ensemble, and magician Gerry Schiller. There will be actvities for the kids. Beer, wine and a variety of beverages will be available.

Ventura County Democratic Party Chair, Brian Leshon says, “The 2010 Spring Fling Barbeque and Party is a fantastic event for the entire family. We’ll hear from our wonderful Lieutenant Governor candidates as well as all the people running for our regional offices. It is a unique opportunity to hear from, and mingle with, the candidates, while your kids enjoy the park.”

The cost of the event is $40 per person, $20 for full-time students and kids under 10 are free. Bring your checkbook, or credit card, and bid on a variety of great live- and silent-auction items including vacations (Hawaii, and the Mexican Riviera), a spa day, lunch with your favorite local politician (CDP Vice Chair Eric Bauman, and Supervisors Long, Bennett and Zaragoza), and much more.
