The June 8, 2010 Election is upon us, and it is a critical one for Democrats in Ventura County. Ventura is a blue county with 13,000 more Democrats registered than Republicans. But because of low Democratic turnout at the polls — don’t be discouraged by nasty Teabagger rehtoric — there are more Republicans filling the elected seats than Democrats. We must turn out more voters at the polls on Tuesday. Please distribute this document to your own lists of colleagues, friends and family.

On June 8, the seat of Clerk Recorder will be filled. It is imperative that Democrat Jim Dantona be elected to this position so the Democratic majority in the county is properly represented and so another highly-partisan, right-wing, Strickland Republican does not fill this seat.

We also want a Democrat in the run-off for Ventura County Treasurer Tax Collector seat and that is why it is critical that everyone vote for Ed Summers. He is the most qualified and experienced candidate on the ballot with a 27-year financial background and direct work handling the finances for both the counties of Ventura and Santa Barbara, as well as other public agencies.

Below are the endorsements of the California Democratic Party, Ventura County Democratic Party, the Ventura County Democratic Clubs in Ventura, Ojai and Young Democrats and a synopsis of the five Propositions by Dante Atkins Co-Chair of the Legislative Committee of the Los Angeles County Democratic Party. These endorsements constitute all those given in this election cycle by chartered, Democratic organizations.

There are a some races for which no endorsements were given. So you will see no recommendations.
