Description: The Alliance for Sustainable and Equitable Regional Transportation (ASERT) will be turning out riders and members of the community to voice their comments about the proposed VISTA fare increase, which would raise the fare to $3 each way. The recent VCTC ridership survey indicated that 46% of riders would stop riding if the fare increase passed, and over 48% of weekday riders, and 83% of weekend riders, are low-income. This fare increase comes during a tough economic time, and represents a 50% jump in fare price. Please join us in front of Ventura City Hall at 6pm, where we will rally and go over the procedures for making a public comment. Support public transportation!
